Nor the infamous lightbulb moment where you find yourself in a suddenly cured-after-one-session scenario like they portray on tv shows and movies. No, ma’am. In therapy, you are talking about and dealing with the difficult parts of your life. You are bringing the darkness to light. It takes a lot of mental energy, time, thought, personal reflection, and sheer bravery to face those battles to change and progress forward. So I guarantee there will be tough days.

But there will also be days of great victory! Those are the days where you connect dots and recognize,  you can do it! You will feel empowered and in control of your emotions and how you respond to the world around you.

During therapy, I always want to make sure you are good in mind and body. Together, we do mindfulness breaks, grounding exercises, and guided meditations as practices that keep you focused on positivity, creativity, motivation, and calm.


Loved ones are always welcome to join. At any point, let’s involve the people that matter most to you. We’ll create ideas and strategies on how family and friends can help support you in your therapeutic process and in your overall wellness journey. 



I assess you regularly to track where you are and how far you’ve come. I’ve got lots of helpful tests and quizzes so we can scale your progress as we go.


Quick follow-ups and check-ins with me during times of crisis outside of sessions. You can engage any of these methods by phone or message.

What happens before the Therapy Season start?

As soon as you provide your payment and Accept your Therapy Contract, you can expect Client Portal access via your email inbox within 48 hours. Your private Client Portal gives you access to Electronic Paperwork, Scheduling, Billing, and Messaging. 

Inside your Client Portal, you will engage in completing the following items:

  • Access to your private Client Portal
  • Electronic Paperwork
  • Assessments
  • Quick Therapy Preferences Survey
  • Check Ins via Messaging
  • Scheduling Your First Session

Each step takes time, but will keep you engaged until our start date. And you will be connected with me. 

The idea of starting sooner than later is it will prepare you for our Session start without rush or urgency aside from what brought you to therapy.

When are sessions scheduled?

Session availability is typically Tuesdays and Wednesdays and occassional Thursdays. Morning, midday, and late afternoon appointments (New York/Eastern Time) are always available. Evening and weekend appointments(New York/Eastern Time) are currently limited to first come, first serve, specialty sessions, and crisis clients.

Upon our first session, we will work out your session day and time slot for your Therapy Season going forward.

Plus, scheduling with me is flexible for busy professionals. If you are in need to re-schedule a session for that week, you can do so easily in your private Client Portal.

If you are outside of the North and South America regions, do note availability will change to your time zone. Those in Europe and Africa frequently match to Tuesday and Wednesday evening or night sessions. Those in Asia and Australia regions frequently match to early morning sessions Wednesdays and Thursdays.

What happens in the first session?

I love the first session! Because it’s where you and I get to meet.

This first session is where I introduce me, and you introduce you. I am so looking forward to getting to know you better btw. We’ll laugh (or cry) and we’ll talk casually like old friends. And somewhere in there you will fill me in on your life – mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually or relationship wise – of whatever brought you to needing therapy in the first place.

Plus, it’s informational as well. I will walk you through how everything works including your private Client Portal, what is expected of you, what our Season will look like, and answer any questions you may have.

By the end of our session together, I promise, we will be connected, your concerns will be addressed, you will feel more at ease with myself and the process, and you will know our next steps together.

Is online therapy as effective as in-person therapy?

In-person therapy is still the gold standard.

But I love tech! All of it. It’s always been fun for me. And I always knew online was the next step in therapeutic services. So I’ve been doing online and virtual therapy since 2016… long before it became mandatory for global health. 

And I’ve got it down pat. My systems for making you feel welcome and connecting us are already tested and in place and HIPAA compliant for your privacy and confidentiality of all your information. Translation, I made the process of connecting online smooth and efficient for you. And we always connect meaningfully whether via video, phone, or messaging.

In fact, most of my clients report that upon therapy online with me, they experienced “no barriers” to connecting via video or phone. In other words, they didn’t “feel” the difference between in person and virtual sessions. You’ll get the feel of it too.

I believe online therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy with a professional who knows how to operate online and virtually with their clients well… AND enjoys it! That’s a bit more rare, even after this past year.

So, yes! Therapy, with me, is just as effective as in-person therapy.

Do you take insurance?

No, I do not take insurance.

Instead of taking insurance, I offer Superbills (therapy receipts) you can submit for reimbursement with your insurance company.

Please note the reimbursement amount, and even being reimbursed, is not guaranteed as it is dependent on your insurer. Contact your insurance company for clarification.

Further, I am based in the United States.

For U.S. expats, if your health insurance is U.S. based, your carrier often will honor a Superbill as stated above. Travel insurance usually does not cover mental health or illness visits.

For non-U.S. clients, I still provide Superbills. If you have a government assisted health program, reimbursement is often not provided. However, if you do have health insurance, you can always inquire with your insurance carrier for more information.

Is there a payment plan?

Yes, you have the option to pay monthly. Just remember, this is an investment in you. Very important.

Do you only work with women of color?

Not at all! I do therapy for adults, period. My only stipulation is adults aged 22 and older.

In fact, I have clients all around the world of different cultures, religions, and backgrounds. I actually have equal amount of clients who look just like me, and equal amounts of those who look the exact opposite of me. Regardless of my clients’ gender, skin tone, hair or eye color, or location in the world, we have made amazing change together regardless of our differences. It’s the connection that matters.

So, if you are an amazing woman, let’s do it.

How many sessions will I have in my Therapy Season?

You will have 10-12 sessions per Therapy Season with me. 

That is on average one, 60-minute session per week.

For weeks where you may not have a Therapy Session, it can be due to several things such as:

  • Your schedule or schedule change
  • My schedule or schedule change (in cases of urgent or crisis response)
  • Need for an Implementation Week (for reflection and homework)
  • You opt to skip a session
  • Unforeseen circumstances (i.e. natural disaster, community or global crisis)

How many sessions do I need?

This always varies… usually according to the individual and the progress of therapy. In other words, the amount of sessions depends on the issues being treated and their severity, the client’s engagement, plus the therapy modality used.

For the latter, my primary therapy modality is Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). This therapeutic treatment approach is exactly how it sounds. It does not operate with regular, weekly sessions for years on end. It is “brief” in nature with the average number of sessions ranging from six to twenty, or if more severe mental health challenges and recourse, more as necessary. SFBT works because, throughout our sessions, while we do discuss and learn from your pain and hurt and deepest concerts in detail, we put our largest focus continuously towards specific goals and the future instead of large, intensive analysis of the past.

Also, I believe very strongly in brief therapy because I believe in YOU. 

I believe in the fact that you have every capability of getting back to your best with the proper support. That’s why I operate in Seasons where we do 10-12 sessions, including lifelines as needed. This allows you to operate thinking ahead, which minimizes development of dependency on your therapist, plus, it keeps us focused always to our end goal.

What is a Lifeline?

In traditional therapy, you go to your therapist once a week, and there is no other exchange or communication until the following session, including if you have major changes or are in crisis. 

Well, I don’t like that for my clients.

So I offer messaging as well as my premium service of Lifeline Support.

Lifelines are your ability to quickly access me via 15-minute calls or messaging appointments outside of session times if needed. You can engage a Lifeline with me via Phone or Messaging by scheduling directly on my calendar. No questions asked.

You have up to five (5) available to you for crisis during your Therapy Season.

What happens after the 12 weeks?

After 3 months/12 weeks of working together, we re-evaluate what you need next.

I practice Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) throughout our sessions together. Most clients make considerable progress after a Therapy Season. Here are the possible options after our 12 weeks:

  1. Continue with “Immersive” therapy into an additional season.
  2. Move to “Graduated” therapy into an additional season (bi-weekly or 30 mins sessions).
  3. Move to “As Needed” therapy (schedule when needed).
  4. Complete all therapy.
  5. Referral to additional resources or professionals.
What kind of therapy do you practice?

I practice Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) in combination with Person-Centered and Narrative frameworks. 

All that just means I concentrate by primarily building a strong therapeutic relationship with you through lots of listening, curiosity, and meaningful conversation. This approach allows me to learn about your life stories, past, present, and future, which also helps me to learn about you and the root of your challenges. While I do that, you hopefully learn to trust me and know that I truly do care and am dedicated to your progress. Everything is smooth after that. And we, little by little, address and resolve what brought you to therapy together.

I am also trained in and occasionally do Mindfulness, Family Counseling, Gottman Couples Counseling, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR). But it would take too long to explain what each of those mean, lol. Just know that no matter what challenges pop up for you, I have training and education and clinical experience to match it.

Can we ever meet in person?

Yes! Absolutely. I’d love to meet you in person.

I offer in-person sessions as a hybrid service in compliment to our virtual sessions.

I am based in South Florida… Miami, Fort Lauderdale area. And I travel regularly and have clients all around the world. If you are ever in my area or I am in yours, and circumstances permit, I am happy to offer an in-person session pending a location works and COVID safety measures are able to be met.

What if I’d like to talk with you before applying or starting my Therapy Season?

Absolutely! I’m all for it.

I recommend you book a DISCOVERY CALL with me which is a full 30-minute consultation.

This is a separate investment but worth it if you would like to see if we are a good fit, share more about yourself and what you’d like to work on, check if I can handle your challenges, or simply just have your questions answered beforehand directly by myself.

Plus, you can opt to get your own personalized Mental Wellness Action Plan you can use whether you choose to work with me or not, or even if you choose to work with another professional after our call. It works for any of those scenarios, which is completely up to you.

Then, after your Discovery Call, once you do decide to start your Therapy Season, it’s like our first session is already half done and we are “ahead” of our therapy schedule. Win-win!
