Here is my full professional information.

Aprile Andelle,

I’m a solution focused coach and, more importantly, a therapist trained in Relational, Marriage and Family Therapy. Which basically means, I talk to you about you and your life, but also, I talk to you about all the relationships and entities surrounding your deepest concerns. This conversation is vital because your relationships in life all play a role in your present circumstance. Even more, they often hold wonderful information and strength to finding solutions for your future.

Also, as a relational therapist and coach, my hallmark process with you include questions and conversations inviting key members and systems of your world into the picture. These key members and systems could include spouse, friend, parent, sibling, coworker, or even school, work, illness, money, etc. How do they all relate, interact, or affect each other? And further more, how do they all relate, interact and affect you, and your loved ones? We explore all of that and expand the picture of the problem, always honoring multiple perspectives along the way. It’s eye-opening.

I am trained to work with families and individuals of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds, age groups, religious affiliations and sexual orientations. I specialize in conducting individual as well as couple, family and group therapy… with highly personalized approaches for both adults and children. I welcome the individual as well as the whole family.

Counseling for health care providers, caretakers, and those dealing with health issues
Reduce stress and burnout through counseling - Fort Lauderdale, Fl

    My mother once said,

“Don’t grow like a palm tree, but rather like an elm, with many branches and roots to explore and develop.”

Solution Focused : “Once the problem is deconstructed, I focus our conversation on finding solutions.”

Strength Based :  “With the right guidance and conversation, I believe everyone has the strength to solve their own problems, heal, and change. Everyone, including you. Let’s review your previous successes, find what works and move forward with those key pieces.”

Brief Therapy : “From a strength-based approach, I help people use what is natural to them, which greatly reduces the timeline of change. Session timelines then are usually just a few weeks or months, instead of years. However any time you’d like to check in after we’ve worked together is a-ok.”

Narrative Therapy : “If we think about our lives as narratives, or stories, it allows us to envision storyline, characters, plot, genre and ultimately outcomes such as ‘peaceful transitions’ ‘love conquers all’ and ‘happy endings’. It is entirely our choice on how the story ends. Let’s first talk about your current problem-filled story, then leave it behind and create a new one with lots of room for creating the story that fits you better.”

I finally achieved my Doctorate of Marriage and Family Therapy in 2018 from Nova Southeastern University, one of the top schools in the country for the discipline of Relationship and Family Therapy. My clinical emphasis was the study of Medical Family Therapy and training in Healthcare Systems.

I received my Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2013 from the same institution, which is located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

I started out with my Bachelor of Arts in International Business from Rollins College, a prestigious liberal arts college in Central Florida. I studied people and communications, through culture, language, and the disciplines of economics and commerce.

Currently, I own and operate my therapy practice, which was founded in 2014 in South Florida. Currently, my practice now specializes in online therapy, and I conduct sessions as well as mental health support local as well as abroad to wherever I travel. It’s only the beginning, and there will be much more to come.

My final three years of my doctorate clinical experience, I worked extensively in NSU’s Brief Therapy Institute, also known as the Family Therapy Clinic, conducting sessions as key therapist with a variety of clients, including couples, families and individuals of all ages, cultures and backgrounds.

The Family Therapy Clinic has recently expanded to add a new Medical Family Therapy (MedFT) practice clinic location in NSU’s Health Professions Division, where I have been a primary therapist working with the doctors of NSU’s College of Osteopathic Medicine and their patients. These direct doctor referrals result in individual, couple and family counseling with patients suffering health ailments and chronic illness. We work with each patient, and their medical team, to provide therapeutic care in conjunction with their medical treatment.

I had the fortune to intern at the Trauma Resolution Center (TRC) of Miami, founded in 1995. I conduct one-on-one trauma-focused treatment with individuals experiencing a myriad of challenges around  trauma, abuse, neglect, violence, anxiety, chronic stress, PTSD and more. TRC’s goal is to provide an in-depth, loving and respectful service that empowers individuals to move forward.

Additionally I interned within the Broward County (FL) schools for many years working with students in the new “Alternative to Suspension” (AES) program, now known as PROMISE (video at 3:30).  The goal is to counsel and mentor students out of difficult situations by providing support, along with positive planning guide assessment to help them piece together goals and plans for their future.  In this capacity, I’ve worked with well over one hundred fifty at-risk children and teenagers of all ages, cultures and backgrounds with various issues and problems.
